Chris Downs, age 52, passed away at his residence after a long illness.

Born in Darby, PA he was a son of Harry and Mary Downs. Known as the "Philly Ambassador", Chris was a former professional dancer and fashion choreographer. Chris graduated from Widener University in Chester, PA and resided in Millsboro, DE for the past 13 years. Chris also was known in his family for his love of dolphins, purchasing every conceivable memorabilia possible.

Survivors include his parents Harry and Mary "Mink" Downs of Murrells Inlet, SC; sisters Mary Rybicki (Joseph) of Havertown, PA, Michele Whitman (Joseph) of Hampton, GA; a brother Harry Downs, Jr. (Mary Frances) of Dalton, MA; three nieces, five nephews; six great nieces and nephews and several aunts and uncles.

A private memorial service will take place at 9:30 am, Thursday, June 27, 2013 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel with Father Ray Carlo officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
