A native and long time Jasper resident, Arthur Ray was a retired truck driver and worked for fifteen years as a mechanic at the former Jasper Goodyear Store. An avid fisherman & deer hunter, he was past president of the Panther Creek hunting club. He was a bird watcher that loved his family and took pride in their accomplishments. He was a generous man that was willing to help anyone. He was known as Pop, Paw Paw, Supervisor, and Engineer.
He is survived by his wife of fifty seven years Juanita Harvey; two sons Danny Harvey & wife Janis, Darrell Harvey & wife Jean; honorary son Tommy Hanes; and daughter Lorinda Lawson all of Jasper; brothers Thomas Harvey; and William Harvey of New Jersey; thirteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
Arthur Ray was preceded in death by his parents Shed & Fairest Harvey, son David Harvey, daughter Darla Harvey, and granddaughter Katherine Harvey.
Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Jasper.
