Longtime Sonora resident Mary Louise De Wolf died Feb. 27 at her home. She was 80.
Mrs. De Wolf was born in Klamath Falls, Ore. She moved at a young age to Portland, Ore., where she attended school.
In 1947, she moved to San Francisco with her mother. She married William De Wolf in 1948.
The De Wolfs lived in Sunnyvale for 34 years, where they raised their three children. In May 1987, they moved to Sonora.
She was a homemaker while her children were young, but later joined Bank of America, where she worked for 25 years and retired as loan officer.
Mrs. De Wolf loved to draw and paint. After retiring and moving to Sonora, she took art classes and won a number of awards at the Mother Lode Fair.
She was a member of the Sonora Moose Lodge. She enjoyed summer barbecues and being surrounded by family and friends.
Mrs. De Wolf was preceded in death by her husband of more than 50 years, William M. De Wolf; her mother, Hettye Cervantes; and father, Charles S. Chastain.
She is survived by her children, Robert M. De Wolf, Barbara C. Ducey and her husband, Terry, and Carol De Wolf, all of Sonora; grandchildren, Brian De Wolf, of Modesto, Apryle Rivera, of Sonora, Julie Ducey, of Cupertino, and Sandra Ducey, of Sonora; great-grandchildren, Aubrie Smith, of Cupertino, and Ryden Rivera, of Sonora; and nephew, Alan De Wolf, of San Jose.
A service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home.
Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
