Mr. Alfred Oren Haynes, Battletown, Kentucky, 64 years old, passed away suddenly Sunday morning September 7th. He was born September 29, 1894 in Battletown, Kentucky, a son of Charles F. Haynes and Mary F. Smith Haynes. He was married to Mrs. Eva Mae Surface and to them two children were born. Mr. Haynes was a World War I Veteran. he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Eva Mae Haynes, one daughter Mrs. Georgia Rose Franke of Brandenburg and one son Joseph R. Haynes of Battletown; four sisters, Mrs. Nancy Greer, Mrs. Edith Eldridge, Mrs. Fannie Haynes and Miss Ida Haynes all of Battletown. Funeral services were held at the Macedonia Christian Church conducted by Rev. Howard Brown and Rev. Isaac Flora. Burial was in the Haynes Cemetery directed by Wright Funeral Home. Pallbearers were: Cal Humphery, Carl Embry, Clarence Kendall, Kenneth Hockman, Forest Bennett and Roscoe Portlock.
