LITLE GIRL'S DEATH CAUSED BY FIRE

The four year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Gronlund of Menahga died at the Menahga Hospital Monday evening 7:00 o'clock, as a result of burns received that afternoon.
Mrs. Gronlund left the children at home while she stepped over to one of the neighbors and while she was gone the older children left the house for a moment, leaving the four year old girl and a two year old baby playing on the floor; upon their return they found the girl enveloped in flames which evidently had been started by the child lighting a match which set fire to her clothing. The flames were quickly extinguished but not until severe burns had been inflicted. The little girl was given prompt medical attention but she had undoubtedly inhaled some fire and was burned internally which caused death a few hours after the accident. The baby escaped without without the slightest injury, nor was the house damaged by fire.
Mr. and Mrs. Gronlund have the deep sympathy of their friends here in their great sorrow.
