Farmington, Jan. 10 - Mrs. Maryett Gillis Bowerman, aged 81 years, widow of Silas Gifford Bowerman, passed away at her home in this town early Wednesday morning. Mrs. Bowerman was the daughter of Robert and Martha Hart Gillis and was born December 4, 1846, in the town of Victor, where she lived until her marriage to Silas Gifford Bowerman on December 9, 1862. There were ten children born to this union, of which six survive: three daughters, Mrs. Mary Hulburt of Penn Yan, Mrs. Florence Tallman of Wayneport, and Miss Martha L. Bowerman, who resides at home; three sons, Manly H. of Fairport, Robert and Jerome Bowerman, both of this town; also 20 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Mrs. Bowerman's consistent Christian life and pleasant ways endeared her to all who knew her, and she will be long remembered by those who have been associated with her during her long life here. Funeral services were conducted from her late home Friday afternoon at 2:30, Rev. Frank W. Hill, pastor of the Presbyterian church of Victor, officiating. Burial was made in the North Farmington Cemetery.
