Mrs. Porter leaves to cherish her memory, a daughter, Josephine Crowell, a son, Lawrence Miller, one adopted daughter, Darlene Porter, a devoted and faithful granddaughter, Jacqueline Miller and a daughter-in-aw, Mrs. Josephine Miller. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and twenty-two great, great grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews and close friends.
Mrs. Porter was a devoted mother and grandmother who in addition to raising her children, worked at the University of Virginia fraternity houses. She was devoted to her church, Rose Hill Baptist Church in Simeon, VA and attended regularly as long as her health permitted. Her favorite hobbies were to cook, bake, and sew.
Funeral Services were held at Union Run Baptist Church, 3220 Keswick Rd., Keswick, Pastor Rickey White officiated and the Reverend Hilliard Brown delivered the Eulogy.
