Robert William "Bob" Lux, 46, of Sunnycrest Manor, Dubuque, formerly of Fillmore, Iowa, died Wednesday, July 2, 2003, at Sunnycrest Manor.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Fillmore, with the Rev. Daniel Krapfl officiating and Deacon Marvin Recker assisting. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Fillmore. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. today at Reiff Funeral Home, Cascade, where there will be a wake service at 5 p.m.
Mr. Lux worked at a wood pallet factory in Rock Valley, Iowa. He also worked at the Mobile gas station at 90 S. Locust St. in Dubuque.
He was born on Dec. 21, 1956, in Monticello, Iowa, son of Frank and Mary E. "Betty" (Then) Lux. He was a 1975 graduate of Western Dubuque High School in Epworth, Iowa.
Bob was an automobile enthusiast. He loved attending the Cordova (Ill.) Drag Races and the U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis, Ind.
Bob was a very devoted Christian and could quote many verses from the Bible. Bob was a very kind and gentle person. He always had a smile that would brighten the days of those around him.
Surviving are his father, Frank Lux, of Fillmore; two brothers, John (Joan) Lux, of Cascade, Iowa, and Ted (Deb) Lux, of Phoenix; a sister, Nancy (Greg) Howell I, of Durango, Iowa; a niece, Tammy Howell; a nephew, Tony Lux; two step nieces, Mandy Bailey and Crystal Howell; two step nephews, Greg Howell II and Joe Howell; and a very special friend, Cindy Steger, of Dubuque.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Lux, on Aug. 22, 1995.
A Robert W. Lux Memorial Fund has been established.
