Charles was a World War I veteran of Battery A of the 108th Field Artillery, 28th Infantry Division, PA National Guard. Charles served in this unit with his soon-to-be brother-in-law, Benjamin Ray Rearick [who later went by Ray Rarick]. He was a charter member of the "Thomas H. Clapham" Post 410 of the American Legion in Mifflinburg, Union County, PA.
On June 10, 1919 he married Minda Minerva Rearick. They divorced and both remarried. They had one child that "died at birth before their divorce."
Charles H. Yeisly/Leiser married a Frances E. Bruch. around 1921 and they had four children: Evelyn Martha Yeisly [stilborn], and Charles E., James E. & Dean E. Leiser.
