Kristin J. Hazard, 49, of Patrick St. West Chester, PA,died along with her husband, Richard L. Holmes on Tuesday, December 28, 2910 as the result of an automobile accident in the Town of Paris, N.Y.
She was born January 31, 1961 in Oswego, NY, a daughter of Robert and Elisabeth Dolan Hazard. She was a graduate of Crystal Lake South High School in 1979,attended Southern Illinois University and received her B.S. from Northwestern University. Currently, she was attending Delaware County (PA) Community College for Respiratory Therapy. On June 9, 1990, Kristin married Richard L. Holmes in Crystal Lake, IL. A free spirit and adventurer, Kristin had backpacked in Europe with her best friend after high school graduation. She had worked with her brother, Bob in the oil fields of Wyoming and loved camping. She worked at the Futures Exchange in Chicago at one time, and had also been a representative for a camping and clothing company.
Kristin was an active member of the West Chester, PA Friends House, and was a Girl Scout Leader.
Surviving are her daughters, Elisabeth and Blythe Holmes; her father,Robert E Hazard of Earlville, NY; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Jonna and Steven Bartlett of Earlville; Holly Hazard and Richard Clayton of Falls Church, VA; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert M and Susan Schilmoeller Hazard of Aurora, IL; John and Kelly Hazard of Apex, NC; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother in 2003.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 PM Saturday, January 1, 2011 at the West Chester Friends House, 425 North High St, West Chester, PA. Contributions in her memory may be made to an education fund for Elisabeth and Blythe, % Holly Hazard,6322 Lakeview Dr.,Falls Church, VA 22041.
