Patty Jo Baker died at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center (Mishawaka, IN) on June 17, 2013. She was born to Carlos "Pat" Kelly and Gertrude Van Lue on May 12, 1937 in North Liberty, IN and graduated from North Liberty High School.

On November 5, 1957, she married Harold J. Baker in North Liberty, IN who survives her. Patty is also survived by their two children, Steven (Diane) Baker of Piqua, OH and Kelly (Rex) Sallak of Niles, MI.; four grandchildren, Christopher Sallak (Mishawaka, IN), Jennifer (Nicholas) Bockaj (Niles, MI), Jessica Baker (Columbus, OH), and Troy Baker (Piqua, OH); four great-grandchildren, Jackson Bockaj, Lincoln Bockaj, Karlie Jo Bockaj, and Grant Bockaj; her mother, Gertrude Singleton (New Carisle, IN); three siblings, Luan LaBere (Bridgeview,IL), Gene (Carol) Kelly (Shalotte, NC), and Debra Singleton (Terre Haute, IN); and multiple nephews and nieces.

Patty was preceded in death by her father and her brother Carlos "Skeeter" (Dorothy) Kelly (Warsaw, IN).

Patty Jo began her career working as the North Liberty town telephone operator. She shifted directions and spent most of her career designing kitchens at Hill's True Value and Werntz's Hardware. She was a champion archer and enjoyed playing clarinet/percussion, cooking/baking, fishing, camping, crocheting blankets, and making items out of wood in her workshop. But, Patty received the most enjoyment out of being with her family.

A private funeral service will take place at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park. Welsheimer Family Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Second Wind Support Group, c/o Jan Cosby/Memorial Hospital, 615 N. Michigan St., South Bend, IN, 46601. The family also wishes to thank the caring staff of the ICU at SJRMC.
