Ray S. Bennett, 85, of Everett, passed away on November 2, 2000.
Born to Ira and Blanche Bennett in La Harpe,Illinois. He was married to Eleanor for 63 years and had three sons. Ray and Eleanor resided in Minnesota, Idaho, Snohomish, Wash., and for the last 42 years in Everett, Wash.
Ray served in the Navy during World War II. He then worked for the Federal Meat Packing Company for nearly 20 years as a maintenance engineer. Ray retired from the Mukilteo School District in 1979 where he had been a head custodian for Mariner High School. He played a prominent role in establishing the Mukilteo Association of Classified Personnel (MACP). Ray enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, and watching Mariners baseball games.
Ray is preceded in death by his father and mother; his brother, Jack; sister, Violet; and son, Farrell.
