JEREMIAH DENNIS PASSES AWAY

Funeral services for Jeremiah Dennis, who passed away at this home Thursday afternoon, after an illness with which he has nearly a year, were held Sunday afternoon in the First Ward chapel with Bishop F.M. Ogden officiating. The choir sang "Jesus Lover Of My Soul", after which the opening prayer was offered by Thomas Black of the Marysvale ward. A baritone solo, "Face to Face", by Kenneth Hood followed.

Dr. T. R. Gledhill offered condolences to the bereaved family and spoke of the exceptional cheerfulness and patience with which Mr. Dennis had borne his suffering during the long months in which he has been unable to continue his work in any way. He also spoke of the care of Mrs. Dennis and the children have given their husband and father, and of the courage and fortitude with which they have carried their responsibilities.

After a violin solo by Golden Johnston, with Mrs. Anna Calloway of at the piano, Samuel Payne of Marysvale, an old friend of Mr. Dennis' spoke of his sterling qualities of character and referred to him as a hard worker but one who was unpretentious, quiet and unassuming, and offered consolation to the mourners. John Ward then sang, "My Father Know".

Bishop Ivan Foisey of Marysvale gave a comprehensive discourse on the resurrection and after the closing song, "Mid Seems of Confusion", by the choir, Enoch Larsen pronounced the benediction.

Interment was in the city cemetery where Bishop F.M. Ogden
dedicated the grave.

Arthur O. Christensen, Frank Christensen, Milton Christensen, Albert Beckstead, Arthur Wilson and Lorin Nielson acted as pallbearers.

Jerry Dennis was born October 10, 1888, at Marysvale, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Jeremiah Dennis. In 1911 he was married to Maud Beckstead of Monroe and the young couple resided in Marysvale until about three years ago, when they moved to Richfield. Mr. Dennis was always a hard worker, making farming his chief occupation.

The deceased is survived by his widow and the following children; Delbert 14, Eldred 12, Naomi 10, Ferrol 6, and Maudie 3.
