Abigail was born near Harrisonville, Woolwich Twp., Gloucester Co., the daughter of George Horner and Hannah Weaver. She and her twin brother Friedrich Horner, who died young. were baptized at the Swedish Lutheran Church, Raccoon, 28 Mar. 1771. However, she was also reportedly a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church for 80 years.

Abigail married Samuel Lodge on 4 Feb. 1790. They lived in Billingsport, near Paulsboro, Gloucester Co., NJ, where she and her sister Anna (whose husbands were brothers) shared the Lodge family mansion.

Abigail received one of the six shares (Lot No. 6, containing 28.95 acres) in the division of her father's real estate in Woolwich Twp., Gloucester Co., 1815. She was living with her daughter Hannah Cox in Zanesville, Muskingum Co., OH, in 1850. She died at the residence of her son Isaac, near Thorofare, Gloucester Co., NJ, in her 90th year.

Gravesite Details

Her grave was relocated from the Lodge Family Burial Ground in Billingsport to the Lodge Family Plot in Eglington Cemetery. Thanks to David Devault for confirming this.
