Grace Jean (Frisby) Davidson, 90, Overland Park, Kansas passed away Friday, June 21, 2013 at a healthcare facility in Overland Park, Kansas.

She was born July 9, 1922 to Jackson C. and Gladys (Selby) Frisby in Bethany, Missouri.

Grace Jean attended district county schools and graduated from Bethany High School and Northwest Missouri State Teachers College in Maryville, Missouri. She taught thirty-one years in schools in Missouri, Iowa, and Illinois.

Grace married Dale C. Davidson on May 23, 1952 in Kansas City, Missouri. He preceded her in death on August 11, 2002.

While living in Kansas City, Missouri, she worked in the offices of Locke Stove Company and Sinclair Coal Company, taught four years in Raytown (a suburb of Kansas City), and was a proof reader for a publishing company. After they welcomed a baby daughter, work and teaching were "on hold" for a few years. Wilson and Company transferred them to Denver, Colorado, then Chicago, Illinois. Dale retired from his position in 1988, and, at the end of the school year, they sold their home in suburban Chicago and made their way to St. Joseph, Missouri.

She was a former member of the American Association of University Women and an honorary speech society. Grace was also a member of the Church of Christ, where she taught children's Bible classes and women's Bible classes most of her adult life.

Grace was also preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Kathleen Frisby and Lucile Longfellow.

Survivors: daughter, Janet Davidson; grandson, David Davidson; brother, James C. Frisby(Hazel); sister, Louise Thomas; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Services: 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Fairview Cemetery, Bedford, Iowa.
