Jesse "Jack" Henton Hornsby was the only son of Mary Emily Spradlin Hornsby of Prattville, Alabama. He spent most of his childhood and adult years in Wetumpka, Alabama. Jack served in the US Army during World War II and was on Omaha Beach at D-Day. He went on to fight at Bastogne, Belgium as part of the 635th Automatic Weapons Battalion during the Battle of the Bulge. He married his teenage sweetheart, Imogene "Jean" Hand, in 1945. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather.
