Nadine C. Turner Hale, 57, of Roanoke, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2013. As one life gone and one life gained, baby Jaiden Andrew was born. Nadine was born January 7, 1956, in Pittsylvania County. She attended Roanoke City Public Schools and Staunton Avenue Church of God. Nadine was employed with Food Lion Inc. for six years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy Turner and Eva Glover and brother, Keith Turner.
Those left to cherish her memory are her three daughters, Martina (William) Johnson, DeShawn (Clyde) Trent and Libra Hale; sister, Mary Bundick; two brothers, Alvin Carter and Calvin Turner; lifetime companion, Jonathan Wright; two devoted stepdaughters, Lisa Wright and LaShanda Ellington; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three aunts, Odessa Clemons, Jane Day and Virginia Hale, all of Roanoke; two great-aunts, Alice Nibblet and Elise Nibblet, both of Chatham; two devoted friends, Virginia Smith and Martha Saunders; her duffle bag baby, Suzanne Pierce, all of Roanoke; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2013, in the Hamlar-Curtis Chapel with Dr. Rawleigh W. Quarles Sr. officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Williams Memorial Park. Friends may call on Monday afternoon June 24, 2013, for viewing at Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home. Arrangements by Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home, Roanoke.
