Phyllis Jane Howell Treadway, the wife of Paul Treadway of Beattyville, Kentucky, and the daughter of the late Coleman and Rosela Smallwood Howell, was born at Sandfill in Lee County, Kentucky on June 12, 1921, and departed this life in Beattyville, Kentucky on March 29, 2011, at the age of 89 years, 9 months and 17 days.

She was a homemaker, and a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Booneville, Kentucky where she was a very active volunteer and also for the Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Beattyville.

In addition to her husband Paul, Mrs. Treadway is survived by one son, Paul Edwin Treadway of Beattyville; one daughter in-law, Mrs. Lawanna Treadway of Beattyville; six grandchildren, Anthony Treadway of California, Leisa Treadway Ammerman and husband Bobby of Beattyville, James Coleman Treadway and Frieda of Manchester, Kentucky, Mark Edward Treadway and BJ of Frankfort, Kentucky, Jennifer Rose Fleenor and husband Jim of Lexington, Kentucky and Jodi Renee Treadway of Athens, Georgia; six great-grandchildren, Katlynn Treadway, Sidney Treadway, McKenzie Treadway, Michael Ammerman, Aidan Treadway and Evan Treadway; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Treadway was preceded in death by her parents; one son, David Michael Treadway; her daughter in-law, Glendola Treadway; two sisters, Eudell Bowman and Clarice Wills; and three brothers, Jack Howell, Paul Howell and her twin brother James Howell.
