John Overton, 44, farmer of Anderson county, died at 6:45 a.m. Saturday at the home of his brother, A L Overton, 731 Atlantic avenue. Mr. Overton owned and operated a farm on Bull Run Creek. He was a member of Heiskell Station church and Jr. O.U.A.M. council No. 217, of Heiskell's Station.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. today at Altum cemtery on Bull Run creek, Knox county. The Rev. J W Wood and the Rev. A G Cox, will officiate. Burial will be Altum cemetery.

Surviving Mr. Overton are four sons, Raymond, Willie, Ralph and Lloyd Overton, of Anderson county; his mother, Mrs. Mary L Overton, of near Clinton; two brothers, J S Overton, of Clinton and J L Overton, of Knoxville; two sisters, Mrs. Lon Conner, of Powell's and Mrs. Molly Biddell, of Knoxville.
