Robert Donovan Wooldridge, 83, of Evington, passed away Friday, March 22, 2013, at the home of his son in Huddleston. Born in Bedford County June 1, 1929, he was a son of the late Donovan and Minnie Murphy Wooldridge. He was retired from Griffin Pipe.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson, Terry Eugene Adams, Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Wooldridge; three children, Donovan Wooldridge and his wife Thelma of Huddleston, Wanda W. Murphy and her husband, Glen, and Malcolm Wooldridge and his wife Peggy, all of Lynchburg; eight grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and a great great granddaughter. He is also survived by a brother, Lloyd Wooldridge and his wife Brenda of Lynchburg.
Special care for Robert was provided by his daughter-in-law, Thelma, and his granddaughters Tammy, Tanya, and Amanda. The family would like to expend a special "thank you" to the staff of Gentle Shepherd Hospice.
The family will receive friends 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Monday, March 25, 2013 at Heritage Funeral Service and Crematory. A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 26, 2013 in Lebanon United Methodist Church Cemetery, 4565 New London Road, Forest by the Rev. Alton Peters.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may take the form of contributions to either Gentle Shepherd Hospice, the American Diabetes Association, or The American Kidney Fund.
