Born in Des Moines, IA, Craig was a graduate of Lincoln High School in Des Moines and the University of Northern Iowa. Following graduation, Craig lived in Indianola. He was employed as a book buyer-seller with an emphasis on old and unusual books for Half Price Books in Clive. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. With a love of laughter, he enjoyed reading, writing and canoeing.
Craig is survived by his wife, Lisa of rural Indianola; a son, Dylan and daughter, Riley at home; his parents, Keith and Eleanor Howard of Indianola; one brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Linda Howard of Baltimore, MD; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Lynda and Reese McNulty of Indianola and Kathy Shrader of Austin, TX; one niece; and three nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be given for his children's educational fund.
