Private Whittington H. Williams served with Company G of the 4th Delaware Regiment during the Civil War.

He signed up in Leipsic, DE with Capt. McClary on Aug. 11, 1862. He was a 5'10.5", 19-year-old farmer.

He "Died Of Disease" during the war. He was reported to have died of dysentery aboard the transport USS Atlantic while in transit from City Point, VA, to New York City on Sept. 30, 1864. (another note in his service record says it was Typhoid Fever)
