A decorated WW II veteran Navy pilot, he was stationed at Naval Air Station Ford Island on December 7, 1941 during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. He later served as the chief pilot for the Sun Oil Company. He was a member of Grace Fellowship Church.
He is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Cathy and Dennis Gann and Dr. Peggy C. Smith, all of Tulsa; two sisters, Elizabeth Hilliard "Peggy" O'Neill of Alton, IL and Lillian Jane "Janie" Shank of Greenville, IL; and a brother, Wayne Howard Smith of St. Louis, MO.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 30, 1987 at Memorial Park Chapel. Interment following at Memorial Park. (Moore's Southlawn)
