Rock Musician. Born in Seattle, Washington, he was the lead guitarist and founding member for the seminal California punk rock band, Social Distortion. With high school buddy Mike Ness, he started the band in 1979 and enjoyed a prosperous recording career for over 20 years. He lent his gritty, high-octane guitar style to the band's sound on albums to include "Mainliner" (1981), "Mommy's Little Monster" (1982), "Prison Bound" (1985), "Social Distortion" (1990), "Somewhere Between Heaven And Hell" (1992), "White Light, White Heat, White Trash" (1996) and "Live at the Roxy" (1998). He died at age 38, in Newport Beach, California.
