Nathan J. Gibbs, 91, died at 4 a.m. today at the home of his daughter, 1101 E. 3rd St., following a short illness with a heart ailment.
He was born Sept. 25, 1878, at Oquawka, Ill., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Marion Gibbs, and had been a Muscatine resident most of his life.
He married Cora Stock at Muscatine and was employed as a commercial fisherman.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Clarence (Corrine) Wagler, Muscatine; and two grandsons.
His parents, wife, and one brother preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Friday at the Geo. M. Wittich Funeral Home. Burial at Greenwood.
Visitation began at 3:30 this afternoon.
