Lynda Marie Dean, 67, of Port Vue, died Thursday, June 20, 2013. She was born March 21, 1946, in McKeesport, a daughter of the late John and Margaret Timar Winter. She was the wife of the late George Joseph Dean Sr.; and sister of the late John Winter. Lynda was employed at Duquesne University for 24 years, until retiring from Aramark. Her favorite pastime was visiting the local thrift stores, flea markets and garage sales. She is survived by her son, George (Mary Kay) Dean Jr., of White Oak; grandchildren, Nicole, Shawn and Jenna Dean, of White Oak; sister; Marge (Bill) Barnocky, of Port Vue; and many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at STRIFFLERS OF WHITE OAK CREMATION AND MORTUARY SERVICES, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131, 412 678 6177, Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor. Services will be held 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
