My grandfather, Reese, graduated from Oliver Springs High School in Oliver Springs, Tennessee. He married my grandmother, Grace, on December 27, 1929, in Oliver Springs (Roane County).

"Reese Lewis Wilson, 80, of Coalfield, died Sunday, Sept. 27, in the Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. He had been ill since July.
"He was a native of Coalfield and a retired self-employed carpenter. He was an active member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening and hunting.
"His wife, Grace Cross Wilson, died 18 years ago.
"Mr. Wilson is survived by two sons, Shannon Wilson of Knoxville and Jimmy Wilson of Coalfield; three daughters, Betty (Mrs. Marvin) Jackson of Coalfield, Peggy (Mrs. Bruce) Ramsey of Lewisburg and Beverly (Mrs. Clayton) Walls of Nashville; one brother, R. G. Wilson of Arizona; a sister, Kate (Mrs. Stanley) Jackson of Dayton, Ohio; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
"The funeral was Wednesday, Sept. 30, at 11 a.m. in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Edmund [Edmonds] officiating.
"Burial was in Estes Cemetery of Coalfield.
"Sharp Funeral Home in Oliver Springs was in charge of arrangements."
