He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed life, his bike and being around family and friends.

He is survived by two daughters, Valerie Whitson and Bobbie Jo Gay, one brother, Bill Barker of Rocky Mount, four sisters, Sue Nest, Connie Blackburn, Tammy Gilchrist, all of Ohio and Debra Gilchrist of Maryland, five grandchildren, Matthew, Taylor, Mackenzie, Landyn and Keadyn and several nieces, nephews and other family.
