Michael Dewayne Platt, 55, of Gosnell, AR., died at home on Friday, June 21, 2013.

He was born in Blytheville, AR., on June 11, 1958 to his parents James Cook and Margaret Emmilou Davis Cook.

He was retired from Cobb Cemeteries and he was a member of Clear Lake Baptist Church. Children of all ages loved him - most referred to him as "PawPaw", but some called him "Dad."

His hobbies included hunting squirrels, deer and rabbits, and fishing.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Cook; mother-in-law, Mary Killingsworth; and father-in-law, Poncho Killingsworth.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years Cindy Cline Platt; two sons, Joshua Ritter and his wife Nikki of Springfield MO, and James Platt and his wife Laura of Gosnell AR; two daughters, Tabitha Platt and Melissa Barnes and her husband Teddy, all of Gosnell AR; a son-in-law, Kevin Watson; his father, Jim Cook of Batesville AR; one brother, Michael Steele and his wife Shelia of Blytheville; four sisters, Denise Thompkins and husband John of Norfolk, W VA, Terry Rundle of Batesville AR, Ann Stockman and Judy Green of Gosnell AR; and 12 grandchildren.

Burial will follow in Carney Cemetery. Arrangements were by Carney Funeral Home.
