dwin Louis Cox, Jr., 73, of Spartanburg, SC, died Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born September 8, 1939, in Portsmouth, VA, he was the son of the late Edwin L. Cox, Sr. and Dorothy Sunday Cox.

A 1962 graduate of Old Dominion University, Mr. Cox was the owner of Guardian Real Estate and retired as a Computer Program Consultant. He was a member of St. James United Methodist Church where he was a trustee, a member of the Evangelism Committee, and also a member of the Foothills Emmaus Community.

Surviving is his cherished wife, Eleanor Parker Cox; son, Edwin "Tres" L. Cox, III of Rock Hill, SC; son-in-law and wife, Hal Lohn (Ursula) of Indian Trail, NC; granddaughter, Lauren Cox Lohn of Houston, TX; grandson, Kyle Lohn of Indian Trail, NC; cousin, Mary Grace Boitnott of Troutville, VA; and brothers-in-law, Joe Parker (Natalie) of Colorado, and Jack Parker (Thora) of Kentucky. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Robin Cox Lohn; and grandson, Andy Lohn.

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 3, 2013, at St. James United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. James United Methodist Church, 213 Lanford Road, Spartanburg, SC 29301.
