Mrs. Angarona Abernathy consort of Claton Abernathy departed this life, in Perryville Missouri (the place of her residence) on Monday morning October 15th, 1832, in the prime of life, being in her 23rd or 24th year, she has left five small helpless children and a disconsolate husband to deplore this loss, her remains was commited [as written] to the silent tomb on the day following, at the Methodist meeting house, in Perry County, Missouri - poor unfortunate woman farewell - four of her children namely, Nancy, Starling, Caledonia, and Saphronia, was brought and put under our protection on Sunday October 28th 1832.

Nancy was taken away by her father on Sunday April 7th, 1833 in order to be sent to school in Perry County - She bid us a long farewell - and, Starling was taken away, by his father on Sunday April 28th 1833 - to be sent to school in Perry County he bid us a long farewell.

Caledonia and Saphronia remained with us until Wednesday, July 30th 1834 when they were taken by their grandfather, Mr. Cobb, to the state of Tennessee, and bid us a final adieu - with pain we parted with the dear little creatures."
