Myrtice Wise Obituary
WISE Myrtice Peele Wise (nee Hall) died quite suddenly Thursday morning, February 10, 2011 at age 91. At her side, as always, was her beloved, Cheryl Lynn, her daughter and best friend. Myrtice was the adored last child of Ada and Matthew Hall. She survived all her siblings: Osi, Ferol, Ernest, Frank, Edna, and Ada Mae. Myrtice attended Robert E. Lee High School and worked as an auditor, retiring in 1984. She and Ada married brothers; Samuel and Cohen Peele. Myrtice was the first to be widowed and later married her current husband, Manuel Franklin Wise, who generously provided, in addition to his son Michael (Marilyn), precious step-grandsons Michael (Kelly) and Stephen (Emanuelle). Myrtice, Skeet, Nana or Grandma: how did you know her? Remember her just that way...and by her beauty, wit and iron will. She continued to astonish us all daily and hours before her death reminded Cheryl to cancel her Friday salon appointment. (God bless you, Joyce!) For all those we innocently omit, we name and bless the following for their special devotion: Helen, Roger (Carla), Donnie (Cathy), Jimmy (Jean), Caroline, Rick, Bonnie (Orville), Cindy (Jeff), Candy (Patrick), Donna (Russell), and Patty (Ben), and Polly. Thanks to our beloved Dr. Fidel Garcia, Kim, and staff. Lastly, Tamara, Cassie, and Heidi who saw us through the door with tender love and grace. The family will receive at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home (940 Cesery) on Monday between 5:30 pm and 8:30 pm. Myrtice's service will be held Tuesday morning at 11:00 am at Holiday Hill Baptist Church, Dr. Albert Byrd officiating, and The Very Rev. Kate Moorehead, assisting. Burial will be private. The family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Holiday Hill Building Fund or Gideons International. May the Peace of the Lord be with each of you.
