It is with great sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Ruby Ann Gibson, age 88, on Tuesday, January, 16, 2018 at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. She was born in Chillicothe, OH on June 26, 1929 and was the youngest of two children. Ruby lived the majority of her life in Kingsport, TN with her husband of 39 years. In her younger days she worked at Eastman Chemical Company. Ruby enjoyed working puzzles, playing games, and she especially loved animals and her pets.
Ruby was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold Gibson, parents, Lloyd and Cora Lee Templeton Salley, stepmother, Neive Salley, and brother, Bill Salley.
Ruby is survived by her sons, Gregory Alan (Diane) and Harold Wayne (Sylvia), her grandson, Christopher Wayne Gibson, and her step grandchildren, Matt Bartholomew and Kim Myers.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 pm on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Oak Hill Memorial Park, Kingsport, with Pastor David Salley officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ruby's memory to the Kingsport Animal Shelter, 2141 Idle Hour Rd, Kingsport, TN, 37660. The family would like to thank the staff at Atria Weston Place for their love and care of Ruby during the past three years.
