The funeral of Herman Alves, 71, who died Tuesday afternoon, following a lingering illness will be held at St. Boniface Episcopal church , Rev. H. M. Keyes will officiate and interment will be in the Hillside cemetery.

Mr. Alves, son of Frederick and Bertha Alves, was born at Plymouth, Oct. 3, 1859. He spent his early life at Plymouth and later moved on a farm in town Chilton with his parents. He was married to Miss Bertha Mayer, April 25, 1888. The couple operated the Alves homestead farm and cheese factory in Chilton town. About twenty years ago they disposed of that property and moved to Chilton.

Those who survive Mr. Alves are his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Lewis T. Hardin of Hurley, Missouri, six grandchldren and one sister, Mrs. Max Wichman of Forest Junction. Mr. Alves was a member of the Masonic lodge of Chilton. Mr. Alves' six grandchildren are; Creighton Alves Hardin, who lives with his grandparents, Ruth and Lewis Hardin, Jr., Ione, Henry and Margaret Kammann of Los Angeles. One daughter, Mrs. Henry Kammann preceded Mr. Alves in death many years ago.
