BUHL • My brother is gone after an untimely and courageous three-month battle with brain cancer. We will miss him greatly. He was a good and kind soul, always there to help mom and me.

Michael was born Aug. 23, 1948, to Gene and Dorothy Abercrombie in Wendell, Idaho. He grew up in Idaho, graduated from high school in Gooding and also attended Boise State University. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a "grand" storyteller!

Michael loved the outdoors; he enjoyed growing his vegetable garden and many flowers. He was an avid fisherman, camper and nature photographer. He also enjoyed watching the BSU Broncos play football. The Colorado Avalanche was his favorite hockey team. We went to many rock and roll concerts. He loved listening to ZZ Top, the Eagles and the Beatles, to name a few.

He was preceded in death by our father, Gene Abercrombie, in 2009.

Survivors include his mother, Dorothy Abercrombie, formerly of Gooding, Idaho, now Pinehurst, Idaho; sister, Marta Abercrombie-Kibbee (Clay Kibbee), of Pinehurst; aunt, Arlene Jarvis of Gooding; and cousins in Gooding, Idaho, Casa Grande, Ariz., and Bedford, Va.
