Doral P. "Whitey" Hembree, 87 passed away, Thursday, June 13, 2013 followed shortly by the passing of his wife of 66 years, Mary R. Hembree, 90 on July 20, 2013 both of Raytown, MO. Mary and Doral were married on July 3, 1947. Survivors for both Mary and Doral are son, Jack; grandsons, Mike (Dusty), Mark (Amy) and Matthew; four great-grandchildren, Quintinn, Brandonn, Jack and Kay. Doral was born September 17, 1925 near Stockton, MO. During WWII he served in the Aleutians Islands with the United States Army Corps of Engineers. Whitey was the Superintendant of Operations at Bekins Moving and Storage for over 30 years. Doral was preceded in death by his parents; Clyde and Laura Pyle Hembree, brothers, Selden and Wendell. Doral's survivors include sisters, Dorothy, Atha June, Flo and Carol; sister-in-law, Naomi Dee; Mary was born January 24, 1923 in Arcola, MO. She was a homemaker most of her life but had worked for the Jackson County Election Board. She enjoyed cooking and loved her family, especially her grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Doral; parents, Claude and Nellie Baird; sister, Wanda; brother, Jack; both Mary and Doral have numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Services for both Mary and Doral will be 1:00pm, Saturday, June 22, 2013 with visitation at Noon at Chapel of Memories Funeral Home, 30000 Valor Drive, Grain Valley, MO.
