Edgar Davis Montgomery, resident of Citrus Springs, Florida, formerly of Clearwater, Florida died on Sunday, June 16, 2013 at Crystal River Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on Sunday, Oct. 4, 1931 in Birmingham, Alabama to Edgar D. and Burnadette (Porter) Montgomery. Edgar graduated from Woodlawn High School and received his B.A. degree from Presbyterian College in South Carolina. He was a member of the varsity tennis team, band, P.C. Choir and Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity. Edgar served with the 101st Airborne Division and was stationed in Japan for two years. Upon his discharge, he was a sales representative for Eaton Laboratories in St. Louis and later Division Manager for Ritter Dental Equipment, where he was relocated to New Orleans and Clearwater, Florida. He took an early retirement from Ritter and started his own company, 'Some Racket', selling screen printed garments and tennis related items. One of his proudest moments, came as a Ritter representative at the American Dental Association meeting when he and an old tennis friend, now a dentist, met up unexpectedly and played in the American Dental Association Tennis Tournament; winning the men's doubles trophy. Ed was a member of the Screen Actors' Guild and has been featured in national magazine and television ads, as well as appearing in several movies.

Survivors include his wife, Tina; daughter, Cindy Osteen and husband Lonnie of Citrus Springs; son, Dave Montgomery and wife, Sue of Dunedin, Florida; granddaughters, Laurie Bixler and Cheri B. Swain and husband Phillip and great grandchildren, Carter and Ashlyn Swain. Services June 23, 2013 at 10 am. Arrangements entrusted to Fero Funeral Home
