Josiah S "Bud" Yarbrough was born on December 22, 1856 in Montgomery County, Tennessee, the son of Joseph Weldon Yarbrough (1827-1896) and Mildred "Millie" (Yarbrough) Yarbrough (1835-1920).

He was married on February 16, 1879 in Montgomery County to Frankie Rosanna Broome (1859-1949), the daughter of Frances Epps "Frank" Broome (1816-1861) and Permelia Ann (Rye) Broome (1821-1904).

Bud was 54 years old when he passed away on March 27, 1911 in Montgomery County and was buried in Millie Yarbrough Cemetery.
