George A. Holsapple, age 95, of Eldorado, OH, passed away Wednesday afternoon, June 19, 2013 at the Golden Rule Living Center in Richmond, IN. Born in Arcanum, OH, he was a son of the late George C. & Clara (Hutton) Holsapple. He was a US Army veteran of WW II serving at Guadalcanal in the Asiatic Pacific Theater of Operations. After the war, he worked for the Preble County Farm Bureau at several grain and feed mills. He later worked over 25 years for Eaton Supply Company retiring in the late 1980's. George was a life member of both the Priddy-Walters American Legion Post 665 in West Manchester and Amvets Post 726 of Eldorado. He was an avid Euchre player and enjoyed bowling and horseshoe pitching, and served as official scorekeeper for many of the softball games in Eldorado.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by wife Marjorie E. (Faig) Holsapple in 1999: grandson Matthew Holsapple: great granddaughter Faith Arnold: brothers and sisters Charlie, Fred and Sam Holsapple; Myrtle Lee and Susie O'Dell.

Survived by children Richard Holsapple & wife Lillian of Greenville, OH; George W. "Bill" Holsapple & wife Millie of Eaton; Keith Holsapple of Eldorado; and Sharon Ritchie & husband Eric of New Madison, OH: 15 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.

Friends may call on the family from 5:00 - 8:00 PM Saturday, June 22, 2013 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria. Funeral services will begin 3:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home with Darrell Evans presiding. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Amvets Post 726 of Eldorado. Burial Preble Memory Gardens Cemetery.
