Her husband, Thomas F. Carey, died in 1949. She was survived by a daughter, Virginia DeCoursey, of Overland Park; a sister, Margie Kennedy, of Hobart; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services were held on Monday morning at the Mount Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum in Kansas City, Kansas. Burial followed in Mount Calvary Cemetery. The family suggested memorials to the St. Mary's Food Kitchen.
