Leonard James Belan of Littleton, Co., was born to James Bedlan and Amelia (Krejdl) Bedlan, on August 18, 1927, at Fairmont, and passed away on March 17, 1983, at Swedish hospital, Englewood, Co., as a result of a pedestrian accident at the age of 55 years, six months, and 29 days.

Leonard was one of two children in the family. He was raised and lived on a farm near Friend. He attended rural school in District 57 in Saline County.

In later years, he moved to Littleton, Co., with his sister and family. Leonard later went to live in a group home, then he moved into his own apartment. He worked for the Stage Clothing store in maintenance.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Amelia Bedlan.

He is survived by his sister, Angeline Greiner; brother-in-law Edd Greiner; nephew, Mark and niece Mellissa Greiner of Littleton, Co; aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Rosary was recited Friday, March 18, at Drinkwine Chapel, Littleton, Co Memorial mass was at Holy Name Catholic church, Englewood, Co., on March 21. This is the church Leonard attended and his friends were there to pay their respects.

Rosary was recited on Monday, March 21, at Farmer & Son Funeral Home, Kotas Chapel, Milligan.

Funeral services were conducted from St. Wenceslaus Catholic church in Milligan, on Tuesday, March 22, with Father Anthony Trausch officiating.

He was laid to rest at Milligan North cemetery.
