Lt. Col (Ret) Carpenter was a WWII veteran. In 1944 Lt. Carpenter led his platoon onto Omaha Beach in Normandy France during the Allied D-Day Invasion and campaigned throughout France and Germany until the end of the war. He continued his Armed Service career with a final assignment at the Pentagon before retiring.
Interment in Daniels Lutheran Church where his father was caretaker and they lived during his early childhood in the 1920's.
