Francis "Joe" Quinn, 86, of ‘F' Street, Keyser, passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at his home with his family.
Born in Keyser on July 31, 1926, he was the son of the late William J. and Frances (Hoover) Quinn.
Mr. Quinn was a retired electrician with the B&O, Chessie, and CSX railroads and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of Church of the Assumption, Keyser, Chief Justice Taney Assembly, 4th Degree, Knights of Columbus, Cumberland, and Knights of Columbus Council 10545, Keyser. He was also a member of IBEW International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Nancy Hanks Post 3518, Keyser.
Surviving are his wife of 65 years Jean Marie (Dorsey) Quinn; his daughters, Kathy Phillips and husband Patrick of Chesapeake, VA, Fran Cloud and husband Dave, of Middleway, WV, Marg Quinn and Ann Wellham both of Swanton, MD; grandchildren William Phillips, Sean Phillips and wife Sarah, Matthew Cloud and wife Jennifer, and Rebecca Cloud; five great grandchildren; and his brother Thomas V. Quinn of Lebanon, PA.
Friends will be received at the Markwood Funeral Home, 111 S. Mineral St., Keyser on Sunday, June 23, 2013 from 5 – 8 p.m. A Christian Wake service will be held at the funeral home, on Sunday at 7:00 p.m.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 24 at the Church of the Assumption, 34 James Street, Keyser at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Ivan Lebar , TOR, as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Keyser.
