US Congressman. He was elected to represent Colorado in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1940 to 1941. He served in the Navy during World War I. He was called to active duty in World War II as a Major in the Army and was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He left the service in 1945 at the rank of Colonel.
