Brandon Lee Backs, 23, of Missoula, Mont., died June 24 at his home in Missoula.
He was born Sept. 24, 1981, in Cody to John and Martha Backs. Mr. Backs spent most of his school years in Lander and graduated from Lander Valley High School in 2000.
He moved to Montana in May 2004 and was employed by Flanagan Motors in Missoula.
He enjoyed music, rock climbing, hiking, camping, hunting and fishing. He was a talented guitar player and had written 14 songs.
Mr. Backs is survived by his father (Terry) of Libby, Mont., his mother of Great Falls, Mont., sister Desirae Backs of Missoula, grandfather Ray Backs of Altamont, Ill., and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Private memorial services are planned at 2 p.m. July 2 in Libby.
