Funeral services for Roscoe A. Barrows, 69, of Waterloo who once farmed in the Buckingham community, were conducted Monday afternoon at Kearns-Dykeman chapel in Waterloo by the Rev. Clarence Sink, pastor of the South Waterloo Church of the Brethren. Burial was in Memorial Park cemetery there. Mr. Barrows died last Friday morning in Allen Memorial hospital of a cardiac condition. He had been ill for the past four years and had been a hospital patient for two days. He was born in Lexington, Illinois, January 21, 1888, the son of William and Eliza Colaw Barrows. He came to Iowa 50 years ago, and after farming for a number of years, went to Waterloo 20 years ago. He was a sheet metal worker at the Hawkeye Steel Products Co. for 15 years before retiring four years ago. He married Anna Kubik in Waterloo, February 13, 1912. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Dale Barrow, Denver, Colorado and Ralph Barrows, Waterloo and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents, a brother and a son.
