Carol Garner, 67, departed this life unexpectedly on June 15, 2013 after a brief illness at the home of her daughter. She was born September 8, 1945 in Lexington, KY to Emma Taylor and the late Barry Cruse.

Carol grew up in Lexington, KY and graduated from Dunbar High School in 1963. She retired from Kroger's in November 2007, then went back to Kroger's to work part time in 2009.

Carol is survived by the father of her children, Robert Garner Sr., a sister, Karen Taylor; 2 brothers, Richard (Karen) Taylor; and Gary (Cynthia) Taylor; a daughter, Michelle (Jerome) Bean, and her sons, Robert (Theresa) Garner Jr., and Ricardo Garner, all of Lexington; 11 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 17 nieces and nephews; 8 great nieces and nephews, a host of cousins and special friends Mary Berry, Crystal Burdette and many cherished co-workers at Kroger's.

Funeral services will be at 2pm Thursday at the Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church, 749 Florida Street, Lexington, KY. Rev. P.B. Bruton Sr. officiating.

Burial will follow at the Cove Haven Cemetery; visitation will be 11am-2pm also on Thursday. The family can be reached at (859)433-8045.
