Funeral Services for Ellen Lea Purvis of Elsberry, MO, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 31, 2013 at the Elsberry Assembly of God Church in Elsberry. Rev. Richard Pillers, church pastor, will officiate with burial in Elsberry City Cemetery near Elsberry. Serving as pallbearers will be Tony Sherrow, Colton Willis, Cliff Hardy, Wayne Hardy, Lonnie Hardy, Jim Pruitt and Richard Davis. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Raymond "Pistol" Momphard.

Ms. Purvis, 69, passed away Tuesday afternoon, May 28, 2013 at the Elsberry Health Care Center near Elsberry. Born April 14, 1944 in Mount Moriah, IA, she was the daughter of Cecil William and Onneda Fern Johnston Hardy. She worked for over twenty years as a Certified Nurse's Assistant for the Elsberry Health Care Center, retiring in 2007.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Oneeda Johnston Hardy; and two brothers: Paul William Hardy as an infant and Harry Dean Hardy in 2001.

Survivors include two brothers: Harold Eugene Hardy and his wife, Dixie, of Savannah, MO and Aubrey Hardy of Winfield, MO; and one sister-in-law, Jean Hardy of Elsberry. She also leaves several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many friends.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 31, 2013 at the Elsberry Assembly of God Church. Memorials may be made to the Elsberry Assembly of God Church in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home; 107 S. 5th Street; Elsberry, MO 63343.
