Darryl Rae Jenkins, 72, passed away June 17th, 2013 at his home in Ocala, FL after a battle with cancer. Darryl was born April 2, 1941, in Wyndotte, Michigan. He met the love of his life, his wife Dorothy, whom he was married to for 55 years while attending Lincoln Park High School. Darryl was a successful businessman who ran several companies and owned his own cabinetry business in South Florida for many years. He was a devoted family man and took great joy in planning many family retreats to the North Carolina Mountains. His favorite activities were flying his remote control airplanes, home improvement projects and driving his convertible Mustang. He enjoyed fishing and vacationing in the Bahamas aboard his boat, The "Miss Dottie". Darryl loved his Islamorada home where many great family memories will be cherished. He is survived by his wife Dorothy Jenkins, their children Debra Jenkins, Donald Jenkins (Deanna), and Diana Turk (Clifford); Brothers Dr. Merwin Jenkins and Bernard Jenkins. Grandchildren Angela Howard (Jerome), Amanda Lesak (Michael), Ashley Keenan (Terry), Matthew Carter, and Peter Keenan; Great-Grandchildren Brendan Lesak, Alania Howard, Dylan Lesak, Jeremy Howard, Autumn Lesak, Alyssa Lesak and his beloved dog Sammy. Funeral Services for Darryl will be held on June 29th, 2013 at 12:00 Noon, Roberts Bruce Chapel West, 6241 SW SR 200, Ocala, FL 34481, (352) 854-2266. A reception to honor Darryl's life will be held afterwards at 2:30 pm: Candler Hills Community Center, 8143 SW 90th Terrace Road, Ocala, FL 34481.
