Matthew was born February 17, 1910 in Streeter, N.D., the son of Matthew and Sophia (Kust) Rudolph. He grew up southwest of Streeter and attended country school. He farmed with his parents.
Matthew married Ella Heller on September 28, 1941 in Streeter, N.D. They lived southwest of Streeter where they farmed. In 1946 they moved to a farm near Montpelier, N.D. and moved to Jamestown, N.D. in 1964 whe he retired from farming. He worked as a carpenter for Marvin Goehner Construction and several other contractors.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and the Jamestown Eagles.
Matthew is survived by his wife Ella Rudolph, of Jamestown, N.D.; three sons, DeLayne (Diana) Rudolph of Seattle, WA; Randy Rudolph of Jamestown, N.D.; Lynn (Tracy) Rudolph, of St. Louis, MO; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two brothers, Arthur Rudolph, of Jamestown, N.D.; Edwin (Edna) Rudolph, of Aberdeen, S.D.; two sisters, Helen (Marvin) Weisz, of Norfolk, NE; Adeline Docktor of Aberdeen, S.D.; two sisters-in-law, Lenora Heller, of Gackle, N.D. and Marie Rudolph, of Moorhead, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers (Albert and Jake) and four sisters (Emma, Kate, Alvina, and Alice).
